Santo Stefano Quisquina (AG)

The preserves Nonna Rosa come from Giovanni Cacciatore Agri-Food company that has been dealing with land and flavors for over seventy years.

Founded as a zootechnical company in the '30s and now in its third generation, it is a family-run business that cultivates, transforms and directly introduces vegetable and vegetable preserves on the market, characterized by quality, genuineness and taste.

It has been able to adapt the industriousness and culture of our fathers to our times, integrating tradition with rational and innovative criteria. Aware of having received a land on loan that must be respected, enhanced and improved - rather than consume or destroy - the owners of the company are concerned with "exploit" with intelligence and respect the fertility of the land and to place on the market a product that not only is it characterized by genuineness and quality, but it also contains within it a whole family history, love and passion for peasant culture.

Vegetables grown in the mountains, where pest attacks do not develop, fertilized with the dung of sheep and cows grazing in the area, as soon as they enter the laboratory and are processed following the traditions of this wonderful stretch of Sicily: we are in Santo Stefano Quisquina .

The Territory

​The company is situated in the territory of Santo Stefano Quisquina, in the heart of the Sicani Mountains, about 940 meters above sea level, one of the island's most interesting environmental and landscape. The particularity of the territory, the soil fertility and the presence of rich natural sources has allowed over time the development of agriculture and livestock even today practiced mainly with extensive criteria and low environmental impact.
